Dave Miles, Earl Turner and Randy Wykoff came together as Hummingtree Band in 1985
creating a unique musical experience that pleased audiences across the southeast.
But as the band began to reach a wider audience, “day jobs”; brought an end to the band’s short run.
Then, 23 years later, one of the band members did an Internet search and found that all three were now living
within a few hours of each other. A few phone calls later and they had decided to get together for a jam
session. That experience energized them enough to put together a “reunion tour” They have continued to
grow as a band, honing their act, and having fun playing again for live audiences.
These “old folkies” cover classic songs such as the Kingston Trio’s “The Man Who Never Returns” and Johnny
Cash’s “Ring of Fire”. They also write many of their songs, some of which were released recently in their first
CD.
